Musicians
Liz Mandville is THE DIVA of The Blues.
Bringing Herself up in a Traditionally African American Genre couldn't have been easy. But, Liz is One of The Few Who've Made It. She Sings, Plays Guitar and Wash Board, and Composes, to name a Few of her Talents.
You have Got to see Her Live, She is a dish best served Hot.
Aron Burton is a Master Blues Musician.
Aron Burton is One of the Musicians seen in the Photo Album titled: The Hideout found on this website. He's been Nominated for The W.C. Handy Award in the Bassist Category 4 Times. He has a couple of Albums with the Earwig Music Label. Check out the Earwig Link over there on the Right Side...
Unfortunately, Gatemouth has Left Us, and
Gone to Jam with some of His "Old Friends."
We can no longer see him play Live, But He's left behind Recordings, And Memories for Us to Enjoy. I still Remember Him Onstage Playing and Smoking His Pipe.
Those were Good Times. I visit His Website here, and on My Space too.
Bob Stroger is another Master Blues Bassist living in Chicago. He's been the Heart Beat for so many Wonderful Bands, that I'm astonished more People aren't aware of Him. Perhaps, it's because He's happiest performing His "Magic" Behind the other Musicians. Check Him Out.
Pinetop Perkins Uses The Piano to Get His Message Out.
When Pinetop starts weaving His Spell, You don't even realize it. All of a sudden, You find Your body rockin' to the Beat. Then the Words of His Song starts sneaking in. And You find Yourself mesmerized until He let's You Go at the End of The Song.
Warning: Sometimes He don't let You go, and You bring the Songs Home with You.
Jimmy Burns has One of The Best Voices I've heard.
He plays Guitar and Harmonica, but it's His Voice that catches ahold of You at His performances. What I love, is when He does a Ballad like His "Talk To Me" Song on His Album "Leaving Here Walking," on Delmark Records. Wow!
His web site is put together nicely too.
justjude's Got The Blues
